Art and design

CRUCA focuses its activity on the design of garments and bags. Each piece conveys the beauty and sensitivity that a unique piece provides, as if it were a work of art. Art is the main inspiration behind each collection, whether in painting, sculpture, cinema, dance, etc. Each collection has a story to tell.

Crafts and tradition

At CRUCA we promote Spanish clothing. The bags are made one by one in a workshop in Madrid and the garments are made by dressmakers in Daimiel [Ciudad Real] when we started and now in Madrid. Cruces de las Morenas, creative director of the brand, chose this town because it is where she used to spend the summer in her childhood, she wanted to restore the illusion and employment of women who made clothes, at that time for large Spanish companies but that as a result of Fast Fashion, the workshops in Daimiel closed and the women who worked in them were left unemployed. For this reason, Cruces intends to resume local clothing with dressmakers who, with experience and desire, make the garment something very special and continue with the dressmaker’s trade that her grandmothers taught her. </ p>

Exclusivity

Our garments and bags are made to order and in a limited series when we go to a fair or event. Our purpose is to generate a responsible consumption of natural resources, giving the garments an exclusivity.

The durability of garments is a fundamental requirement, which is why we use quality materials in their manufacture and entrust their manufacture to professionals in the sector.

Looking at what we buy and under what conditions we do it helps us bet on a sustainable future.

Timeless

The collections are timeless, the garments are useful season after season regardless of current trends.

The goal is to make the garment something sentimental, that can be inherited and passed on from generation to generation.

Behind the CRUCA team is Cruces de las Morenas. The designer started the brand as a hobby while dedicating herself to what was her profession for more than 15 years, the international trade. Trained in fashion design and accessories, Cruces continued with the family legacy, since her grandmothers were dressmakers.

After observing and reflecting on the impact of fast fashion in the world of fashion, the designer decided to dedicate herself exclusively to creating and consolidating CRUCA as a sustainable fashion brand. A firm that aims to confront Fast Fashion as the second most polluting industry on the planet, helping those who were directly affected and returning the value that design always had. For her it is very important the exclusivity in her clothes and that they are clothes that make you feel special, that are not thrown a month after buying them.

Also as a mother, she thinks about a better future for her daughter. She says: “As the current way of consuming is not changed, new generations will see a destroyed planet”.
